altafiber Analyst - Data Analytics in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position : Analyst - Data Analytics

Location : Cincinnati, OH

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the delivery of reporting and analytics, providing qualitative and quantitative analysis of large and varied data sets. The position reports to the Director of Data Analytics and will support analyzing complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.

Essential Functions

  • Work with key marketing and product management members on complex business problems that require in-depth analysis and recommendations around the product lifecycle; this will include product launches, pricing, and acquisition/retention data analysis

  • Provide ad-hoc analytics support and activities in a collaborative work environment

  • Leverage data mining and predictive modeling tools to provide actionable recommendations and solve business/operational problems

  • Develop predictive models (i.e. linear and non-linear regression, cluster, association, decision trees, neural networks, etc.) that are relevant and actionable

  • Produce models incorporating multiple data sources into reports and recommendations which enable decision making

  • Utilize statistical and data visualization tools to develop innovative approaches to complex business problems

  • Participate in the identification and standardization of key business processes, design of analytical approaches, and development of tools that benefit analysis and reporting

  • Support financial modeling and business case development (i.e. EBITDA, NPV, etc.)

Education

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a concentration in Statistics, Finance, and/or Analytics is required

  • MBA preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of work experience

  • Experience supporting marketing and/or product management teams with new product launches, defining market opportunities, acquisition/retention campaigns, competitive intelligence, and pricing strategies is preferred

  • Extensive experience with Excel (i.e. PowerPivot/PowerView), R, SQL, and/or Tableau is required

  • Experience working with large amounts of data from various data sources

  • Telecommunications industry experience preferred, but not required

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand and communicate complex issues and trends

  • Experience with visualization and story-telling

  • Ability to work effectively across internal functional areas in situations where clear parameters may not exist

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills accompanied by excellent consultative skills

  • Ability to complete projects and achieve results in an ambiguous work environment

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Requires strong negotiating and consensus-building abilities

  • Analytic modeling and related application experience is required
