Position : BridgeLink Controller

Location : Cincinnati, OH

The following position is specific to BridgeLink, a start-up company within altafiber. BridgeLink will build and operate a WISP (wireless internet service provider) offering wireless internet services to rural counties throughout Ohio utilizing fixed wireless technology.

Job Purpose :

This position has financial and controllership responsibility for the Fixed Wireless Virtual Network Operator subsidiary of public parent company Cincinnati Bell Inc. This includes management and review of financial statements, monthly close, balance sheet and income statement analysis, internal control review and compliance with SOX, Regulatory, and other required reporting. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the credit and collections for the subsidiary. Position reports to the Senior Director of the subsidiary, may supervise staff, and interacts collaboratively with Tax, Treasury, Regulatory, and Audit.

Essential Functions :

  • Supervises and reviews monthly financial statements for the Fixed Wireless Virtual Network Operator subsidiary; this includes revenue, expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, and inventory - 30%

  • Performs overall review of General Ledger account reconciliations and balance sheet, reserve analysis, and other financial information - 20%

  • Analyze business results, review trends, identify issues, and provide meaningful information for management, analysts, tax, and others. - 20%

  • Oversees the operations of Accounts Payable, Remittance Processing, Fixed Assets (DOPAC) and Depreciation for the subsidiary - 10%

  • Collaborates with other functions on new business reporting, regulatory requirements, and other aspects of compliance; responsible for both GAAP and FCC accounting compliance for the subsidiary - 10%

  • Provides support for systems developments and process improvements - 5%

  • Supports Financial research, Accounting guidance, Audit memos, and other projects as needed - 5%

Education :

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • CPA and/or MBA Preferred

Relevant Work Experience :

5 to 7 years in related field

  • 5 years plus in management of Accounting Department with knowledge of Internal controls, financial reporting, and interactions with Audit, Tax, and Business personnel

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Division controllership role including knowledge of General Ledger reporting, Shared Services and transactional processes, internal controls, and staff management

  • Financial statement preparation and analysis including understanding of budgets, management reporting, consolidations, and some external reporting

  • Collaborative experience working with Tax, Internal and external auditors, Business markets, Information Technology, and other operating departments
