Position : BridgeLink Sr Manager - Supply Chain & Logistics

Location : Cincinnati, OH

The following position is specific to BridgeLink, a start-up company within altafiber. BridgeLink will build and operate a WISP (wireless internet service provider) offering wireless internet services to rural counties throughout Ohio utilizing fixed wireless technology.

Job Purpose :

This position reports to the Senior Director of the WISP and is responsible for managing the relationship between vendors, internal warehouse personnel, and field/installation partners to ensure the needed operations are conducted in a manner that meets both the internal and external customers' expectations. Attainment of the overall business goals requires these activities be executed properly and efficiently in accordance with applicable accounting, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements. Assist in managing Supply Chain inventory, reports, keep levels, replenishment, and usage of material for Cincinnati Bell's internal and external workgroups.

Essential Functions :

  • Work as a part of the logistics team to assist in maintaining & managing proper inventory levels at all appropriate sites

  • Monitor internal & external usage, understand the seasonality of the business, and provide timely material replenishment

  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels at all workgroup locations, monitor cycle counts, and assist in moving materials to meet the business need

  • Monitor/Manage inventory held by partners in local/regional warehouses as well as vehicle-assigned inventory

  • Minimize inventory loss by conducting audits as necessary

  • Assist in other supply chain functions as needed

  • Ensure correct, seamless material delivery to internal customers/partners while improving logistical processes 55%)

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the relevant area of responsibility, providing assistance and consultation to associated stakeholders

  • Create and maintain effective demand planning processes to ensure continuous product flow while minimizing inventory levels

  • Develop strong communication and rapport with the team to maintain clear expectations and timely execution

  • Work with Sourcing and Procurement team to promote "single-threaded" supplier strategies when possible and clarify departmental needs

  • Coordinate efforts with customer department contacts and supply chain, sourcing, and procurement

  • Maintain and build relationships with key internal customers

  • Ensure close communication and collaboration with end-users regarding strategies and plans

  • Participate in supplier negotiations and issues as appropriate

  • Continual Process Improvement (25%)

  • Continually review and improve processes for efficiency, cost savings, and service to internal customers

  • Develop and promote the use of new systems and processes to increase efficiencies

  • Stay abreast of current leading practices in areas of responsibility as well as purchasing, contracting, and strategic sourcing Investigate new technologies in area(s) of responsibility and improvements to supply chain and logistics management

  • Reporting and Analysis (20%)

  • Measure, track and report results to senior management

Education :

Two years of College or Technical School resulting in an Associate's Degree or equivalent

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses :

  • CPM certification preferred LEAN or Six Sigma certification a plus

  • Leadership certification a plus

Relevant Work Experience :

8 to 10 years in related field

  • Logistics experience

  • Distribution / Warehouse experience

  • Understanding fundamental Supply Chain processes

  • Great Plains or SMARTS experience is beneficial

  • Vendor management experience

  • Business case development

  • Experience in running large cross-functional initiatives

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Quantitative analysis skills

  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley Act and its impact on supply management

  • Telecommunications industry experience

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Understanding inventory management, distribution & transportation

  • Order and fulfillment processes understanding individual material lead times

Supervisory Responsibility :

This position does not have employee direct reports but does have oversight responsibility for vendors and/or contractors

Work Environment :

Work is typically performed in a remote environment. This position requires 10% local travel. Driver's license is required.
