Cincinnati Bell Sr Manager Warehouse & Logistics in Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Purpose

This position reports to the Director - Supply Chain and Logistics and is responsible for managing the relationship between Supply Chain and the relevant department(s) to ensure the needed operations are conducted in a manner that meets both the internal and external customers' expectations. Attainment of the overall business goals set by the department is required to ensure they are executed properly and efficiently in accordance with applicable accounting, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

Ensure correct, seamless material delivery to internal customers while improving Supply Chain processes (45%)

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the relevant area of responsibility, providing assistance and consultation to associated stakeholders
  • Create and maintain effective demand planning processes to ensure continuous product flow while minimizing inventory levels
  • Develop strong communication and rapport with the team to maintain clear expectations and timely execution
  • Work with Sourcing and Procurement team to prevent "single-threaded" supplier strategies when possible and clarify departmental needs
  • Coordinate efforts with customer department contacts and supply chain, sourcing, and procurement
  • Maintain and build relationships with key internal customers
  • Ensure close communication and collaboration with end-users regarding strategies and plans
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and issues as appropriate

Continual Process Improvement (25%)

  • Continually review and improve processes for efficiency, cost savings, and service to internal customers
  • Develop and promote the use of new systems and processes to increase efficiencies
  • Stay abreast of current leading practices in areas of responsibility as well as purchasing, contracting, and strategic sourcing
  • Investigate new technologies in area(s) of responsibility and improvements to supply chain and logistics management

Personnel Management and Development (20%)

  • Develop and motivate staff
  • Provide guidance on handling of issues
  • Support development of cross-functional teams through strategic thinking
  • Provide assistance to the sourcing and procurement group when needed
  • Understand and support all responsibilities under your reporting vertical

Reporting and Analysis (10%)

  • Measure, track and report results to senior management

Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of experience
  • Vendor management experience
  • Process Improvement experience
  • Business case development
  • Experience in running large cross-functional initiatives

Education

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses

  • CPM certification preferred
  • LEAN or Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Leadership certification a plus

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong project management skills

  • Quantitative analysis skills
  • Matrix management skills
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley Act and its impact on supply management
  • Telecommunications industry and/or engineering experience

For Network position only: experience with telecommunications, video platforms, network and enterprise platforms, and knowledge preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages subordinate supervisors/managers
  • May manage contractor management personnel

Budget/Financial Responsibilities

  • Responsible for disbursement of over $100M in material annually

Miscellaneous

This position provides support, leadership, guidance, and development to Supply Chain and Logistics personnel. This position will also provide guidance to contractor management when needed. This position will play a critical role in assisting the company to achieve its short and long-term material fulfillment and cost objectives. This is an exempt (Executive) position.
