Position : Sr. Director of Corporate Development & Strategy

Job Purpose

Responsible for identifying, evaluating, executing, and managing new business opportunities within CBTS and its related entities. In this role, the Senior Director oversees analysis of markets, emerging industry trends, and strategic needs in order to develop strategic plans and investment theses. Based upon these plans, this role leads or assists with all aspects of corporate deal making, including: identification of potential targets, deal sourcing, financial modeling, due diligence, structure and negotiation, execution, and post-deal integration. Additionally, the Senior Director is responsible for leadership of special strategic projects.

Attendance is required in this position.

Essential Functions

  • Participates with senior leaders to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives, identify strategic needs, and prioritize areas of focus

  • Evaluates the broader strategic considerations of corporate decisions

  • Identifies and evaluates potential strategic growth opportunities, including new product line development, new market entry, partnerships, joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions

  • Develops financial models to aid decision making, preparing recommendations for deal structure, terms, and valuations

  • Manages due diligence processes, coordinating among multiple internal subject matter experts and external advisors, including investment banking, accounting, legal & regulatory, sales & marketing, operations, technology, human resources, and risk management

  • Develops investment or deal theses to connect individual projects with broader corporate strategy and objectives

  • Evaluates the feasibility of strategic decisions, preparing high-level project plans, timelines, and estimates for transition or post-deal integration

  • Defines, manages, and delivers special strategic projects that generate enterprise value for CBTS, while satisfying stakeholder requirements and balancing competing schedule, budget, and scope constraints

  • Acts as thought-leader and lead advisor to senior leaders


  • 10+ years of full-time work experience, including positions with increasing responsibility for leadership of teams, departments, or business units required

  • 5+ years of experience in the Telecommunications or Information Technology industries required

  • Financial planning, analysis, and management of multi-million dollar strategic programs or portfolios required

  • Experience in strategy/business development, financial analysis, or strategic program implementation within a large consulting firm or investment bank, private equity, venture capital, or other financial services organization required

  • Extensive experience with executive and stakeholder communication, alignment, negotiation, and influence: written, spoken, formal, and informal required

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises ad-hoc project teams consisting of 25+ employees, contractors, and external advisors


  • Evaluates and manages strategic initiatives typically valued at $50M - $200M


  • Occasional travel required
