Cincinnati Bell VoIP Application Engineer - Communications in Remote, United States

Job Purpose

This position reports into the Communications Practice. The Voice Application Engineer will provide the first level of technical implementation and project management support for network services and applications. The position of Voice Application Engineer requires an innovative, enthusiastic, organized individual who is technically competent regarding VoIP and data network services. Knowledge of systems, procedures, and processes (design, provisioning, pricing, order entry, and billing) in support of complex VoIP and data network services will be critical. The successful execution of the position of Voice Application Engineer will result in a high degree of customer satisfaction, which will advance the position of CBTS as a whole.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for overall project coordination including ordering of circuits and equipment as well as billing coordination (30%)
  • Collect customer requirements to design and provision the solution (40%)
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert to the customer throughout the implementation process (20%)
  • Developing/maintaining product/service expertise (10%)

Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of experience

Education

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of VoIP and data network services, design, provisioning, order entry, contract and pricing systems in support of products and services
  • Strong technical knowledge of a full array of complex network services representative of the market segment
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Project management experience
  • Good customer contact skills (including negotiation; presentation)
  • Excellent office application skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database, and business graphics)
